• Painter, musician and poet, Clément Davout has engaged in a dialogue in his work with the living for many years. After graduating from the Caen/Cherbourg Higher School of Arts and Media in 2017, he continued his professionalization within residencies in France and abroad, supported by numerous institutions and represented by the Ketabi Bourdet gallery (Paris) and the Reuter Bausch gallery (Luxembourg).

  • It is through painting that many of his questions crystallize. Having made the choice to eliminate all human figure of the paintings, they invite us to pay attention to the world, to joys and beauty. Via the leaf architectures, light, sensualities provoke our attention. In fact, the plants are not painted like a green and inert mass, but like individuals, which emerge on the surface through feelings luminous. Having grown up in the landscape, the artist subsequently learned the history of painting during his studies - this balance allows him to construct paintings in which several pictorial spaces overlap and reflect a “multi-sensory perception of the landscape”.
