Jasmine Nights is a collection built around nostalgia and reflection. Jasmine blooms at night, its scent and the moonlight offering the perfect surrounding for mysterious things to happen. Without explaining what is going on, I wanted the works in this collection to have a fairytale feel, allowing the viewer to fill in the gaps and make up a storyline.
Marijana Jankovic is a self-taught artist coming from Serbia. Her carpets, handmade in wool, and exploring pop culture in general as well as dreams and visions, strike by the tension between their often apparent naive motifs and the actual hard, patient work that is needed to produce them.
